Magnolia Brewing has been a cornerstone of Haight and Masonic for over 20 years, continuing the rich history of our iconic building. Built in 1903, the space has seen it all — from its early days as Schumate’s Pharmacy to its role in the 1960s as the Drogstore Cafe, a gathering place for the Haight Ashbury hippie movement. Later, it became the legendary Magnolia Thunderpussy’s, named for its unforgettable proprietress and a symbol of the neighborhood’s eclectic spirit. Today, Magnolia honors its past while embracing its future. We’re proud to serve the Haight with small plates, craft cocktails, and beers that reflect our passion for quality and creativity. With our in-house basement brewery back in action, late-night hours, and a commitment to community, Magnolia is once again a place to gather, celebrate, and enjoy everything that makes the Haight unique.
